OLG Coaches Page

On behalf of the students and staff at Our Lady of Grace school we'd like to thank you for volunteering your time and efforts to coach the kids of our parish. Being a coach means that you're a role model for our kids, you're a mentor and you're a source of inspiration.

OLG/CYO COACHING REQUIREMENTS
1.  All coaches must be Virtus trained.  Upcoming Virtus classes can be found on the Diocese of Gary website (follow the link on the main page of the Athletics website.)
2. Coaches must complete a Code of Conduct form that needs to be signed by the AD. (This only needs to be done once-unless CYO changes the form.)
3. Coaches must complete a Coaches Registration form that must be signed by the AD, Principal and Fr. Moszur. (This only needs to be done once-unless CYO changes the form.)
4. Coaches must complete an online concussion training course and submit a completion certificate to the AD. (The Certificate is good for 2 years)
5. Coaches must become familiar with the OLG Athletic Handbook.  The Handbook can be downloaded from the Athletics website under the "About Us" tab.

OLG COACHING RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All coaches are responsible to communicate all paperwork and physical requirements to your players parents.
2. Coaches should conduct a pre-season meeting with all the parents to establish rules and expectations. (That would also be a great time to get parents to fill out their necessary paperwork.)
3. Coaches are required to attend pre-season meetings with the Athletic Director and/or committee as directed.
4. All coaches or their designee are expected to forward game results to the Athletic Director and/or Secretary on the Monday or Tuesday following competition.
5. Coaches are expected to adhere to the CYO's minimum playing time rule for all players.
6. Coaches are required to keep the Athletic Director informed of any confrontations with players, parents, other coaches or fans either at practices or during games.

This list is not complete, please see the FAQ's page for more information or contact the Athletic Director with more detailed questions.
